Two of the major evils, prevailing in our country are indiscipline and corruption. Indiscipline breeds unruly behavior and beligerence, and corruption eats into our society. If these two evils are removed, our nation can progress well.

Various martial arts are practiced to enforce self-defence, but if not taught well and if misused, it can cause a lot of mental and physical injuries. The certain martial arts like Judo, Karate, etc are necessary for the training of police personnel, N.C.C cadets, Army, and Security Forces. It is very essential for the above to know these defence tactics. But if not professed well grievous injuries can result.

Injuries are also caused in the course of domestic quarrels, between married couples, master and servant, police personnel and detenus. Force is used by the police to bring out the truth from convicts. The accused are mentally and physically tortured to make them confess. Some times this leads to death in custody which causes a major conflict. The police have no right to torture persons in their custody. They should use other methods to investigate the crime and get the facts out.

If there is a Thanuological Society formed, it can enquire into the offences caused by people inflicting injuries or other human beings. The Thanuologist can certify physical infliction and help the concerned injured person to claim adequate compensation from the police by preferring a suit in the court of law.

There is the SPCA to lake care of cruelty to animals, the Red cross to take care of wounded soldiers and casualties in the battle field. Whereas human beings have no society to protect their valuable physique & life and redress their needs. No civilized society should tolerate physical torture of human beings.

If a man inflicts injury on another person the affected person complains to the court. Court orders for 6 months imprisonment and or Rs.500/= fine. But the person who sustained the physical torture is infected with diseases like T.B., Asthma etc., in due course. Who will compensate such bodily affected?

Indian constitution guarantees freedom for citizens to speak and write. But it does not provide any guarantee for physique. Their physique should not be affected by others. Here our constitution requires amendment to protect the right of citizen from physical damage.

So also the goods purchased from a dealer if found not up to the standard are replaced by good ones or its value is refunded. This is guaranteed by the consumer act. Whereas a man hits another man who is sued in the court of law. The punishment given by the court is for 6 month imprisonment or a fine of Rs.500/= or both. But the affected person is not suitably compensated. The consumer court of law should get adequate compensation for the physically affected person.

For physical and mental afflictions of human being, there is an organization essentially necessary. It is the Thanuological society that comes to the rescue of law-abiding people. That is a social organisation, similar to SPCA should be started for all civilized nations of the world. Each nation can have this society duly affixing it's name. For instance, this society will be named Thanuological Society (Ceylon).

1. To foster the professional efficiency of Thanuologists (Varma Medical Practitioners) and,

2. To protect mankind from physical and mental trauma.

AIMS OF THE SOCIETY

Human birth is an invaluable gift of the Almighty God. Man is endowed with the sixth sense viz., rationality to know what is good and what is bad. In a social set-up, there may be variations in the mental make-up of man to understand what is life. If any one errs, he can be corrected in a civilized manner, and not at the cost of physical or mental torture. Hitherto corrections have been carried out by latter means. Popularisation of the practice of martial arts among civilized society adds miseries of various types and degrees, to mankind. In a refined society such actions and movements are tantamount to uncivilized behaviour. It tends to inflict miseries on human beings and serves as blockade to enjoy this beautiful life and attain the goal of the rare precious human birth.

LINE OF ACTION:

1. To prevent inflicting harm to physique and mind of human being by :

a. Man-handling (fighting)

b. Hitting, striking (resulting from extensive use of martial arts).

2. To prevent exploitation of human-being by indirectly causing physical, and mental agony.

3. To prevent movements, sports, etc., that cause physical and mental trauma.

4. To prevent harassment to human beings, particularly spouses, servant, child, convicts etc., physically, mentally, etc.,

Thanuology is the Medical Science employed to treat numerous ailments of the human body and mind, arising from impact/accidents.

The word "Thanuology" is derived from the God (Creator) Thanu, He is the originator of Thanuology (Varmam). The practitioners of Thanuology (Varmam) are called THANUOLOGIST. Thanuological is an act of helping mankind to attain from the state of trauma of kinds.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP:

Membership is two categories:

a. Honourable (Donor) Members (Rs.500/=/US $ 500/=/£ 250 or above) and

b. Thanuologists (Fee Rs. 200/=/US $ 50/=/£ 25)

ELIGIBILITY

Both male and female are eligible for the Membership. Thanuologists (Professional) are eligible for 'b' above.

MEANS OF ACHIEVING THE GOAL:

Miseries are caused to mankind by two ways:

1. Natural causes which cannot, under normal circumstances, be helped.

2. Man-made causes which can be avoided and to a great extent arrested/prevented. The second type can be tackled in two ways:

1. To extend appropriate medical remedies (Cure) and

2. To prevent such miseries by

(i) Making propaganda among people to correct their behavior and attitude.

(ii) Appealing to Government to pass legislations

(a) to effectively monitor its effect.

(b) To stop popularization of Martial Arts among general public and dangerous sports.

(iii) Upholding the cause for the welfare of mankind.

(iv) Discouraging cinema scenes, causing trauma to general public.

(v) Seeking representation in the WHO and IOC to get this society's policies implemented.

ORGANISATIONAL COMPOSITION

1. To organise at District, State, National, and International levels, Associations to help victims. The organisation of such society may have a Chirman who shall preferably be a Thanuologist, a Vice- Chirman, Secretary and at the minimum four members. Each unit is an independent body organised at the District level; State level body is connected to National level body; The National level is connected to International body which, in fact, maintain the polices and directives.

2. To help victims to find legal remedies, if the victims are continuously subject to repeated sufferings.

3. to seek legislations to uphold the dignity and self-respect of mankind.
